About: Qurbani Ki Dua
Muslims recite Qurbani, also called Udhiyah, as part of the important Islamic ritual during the yearly Eid al-Adha celebration. A sheep, goat, cow, or camel is sacrificed in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham)'s willingness to offer his son as a sacrifice in obedience to God. Muslims offer up a prayer known as the Qurbani Ki Dua both prior to and during the animal sacrifice.

The person conducting the Qurbani delivers this brief but significant incantation right before the animal is killed. It means that the sacrifice is being made in Allah's name, acknowledging His magnificence and asking for His blessings on this holy day.

The Qurbani deed is a representation of deference, obedience, and loyalty to Allah. Because some of the flesh from the sacrificed animal is given to the less fortunate, it also acts as a way to share with those in need.

For Muslims, doing the Qurbani with the right intentions and according to the rules set out by Islamic jurisprudence is extremely important spiritually. It stresses the value of sacrifice, compassion, and thankfulness in a believer's life by recalling Prophet Ibrahim's steadfast faith and obedience to Allah's commands.
